Welcome to The Cookie Jar luxury en-suite bed & breakfast accommodation close to Alnwick Castle in Alnwick town centre.
Launched in September 2017, The Cookie Jar, formally the Convent of Mercy for over 120 years, stands proudly on the cobbled streets of Bailiffgate adjacent to Alnwick Castle.
Recently voted “Best Place to Stay in the North” by the Sunday Times, the Cookie Jar has 11 beautifully appointed bedrooms, including our suite which was the original Chapel – with its copper bath and original stained glass windows, it really is quite special.
Our bedrooms boast drench showers, some with heavenly bath tubs, great beds, luxury linens, a plentiful supply of Penhaligon’s toiletries and of course your welcome jar of homemade cookies!
In addition, we have a residents lounge which offers a wide selection of books and magazines – the perfect place to relax and enjoy afternoon tea, pre-dinner cocktails or indeed one of our increasingly famous “Percy Specials”
Our Bistro, also open to non residents, offers the following: Morning coffees, light lunches and afternoon teas Tuesday to Saturday from 11am until 4pm – and we are open for dinner on Fridays and Saturdays.
We also have a heated terrace and walled garden to enjoy during your stay.
