Whitton Lodge, Rothbury

Whitton Lodge is situated in the idyllic hamlet of Whitton, a conservation area on a country lane, just a walk away from Rothbury.  The Lodge was originally the coach house to Whitton Grange, an Arts and Crafts country house set in acres of gardens. The properties and grounds contain many listed features dating back to the 12C. A large garden is available for visitor use, the Lodge is centrally placed within the grounds, with views over Rothbury, the Coquet valley and Simonside Hills. The usual entrance involves three steps; an alternative flat entrance leads directly from the visitor garden. The owners are keen gardeners and are happy to show the Grange gardens which contain many unusual species plants to visitors by request.

The three bedroomed Lodge offers spacious accomodation.  Although containing some antique furniture the emphasis is on warmth, cleanliness and comfort. Children and walkers are welcome. Four steps down lead from the entrance hall (with
  cloakroom) to the large south facing sitting room and kitchen. Two short, shallow flights of stairs lead from the hall to three double bedrooms and large bathroom (containing large walk in shower and bath).

We are very centrally placed for all tourist sites in Northumberland, Alnwick,the coast, Hadrians Wall and Kielder. National Trust and English Heritage sites are minutes away on country lanes. Cragside (NT) is on the doorstep. The Grange is situated on St. Oswald's way offering wonderful walking opportunities. Rothbury has excellent shopping for local produce, eating hostelries including take away, bistros, cafes and hotel eating.
