Built in 1880, Oronsay House exhibits many period features and is set in a conservation area just 175 yards from the Hotspur (or Bondgate) Tower and the town centre. We are a similar distance from the entrance to the Alnwick Castle and Gardens.
The owners, Charles and Christine Scott, are committed to making your stay in Alnwick as enjoyable as possible whether you are here on holiday or on business. We offer high quality accommodation with off-street parking in the heart of Alnwick. In the evenings, our town centre location means that you have a choice of the many local restaurants, pubs and bars all within a short walk. The Alnwick Playhouse is just 100 yards away walking towards the town and features a rich variety of film, music, theatre and dance.
Our aim is to make you as comfortable as possible and all our rooms offer: en-suite shower with toilet and washbasin with shaver point; tea and coffee making facilities with a choice of traditional, fruit or herbal teas and regular or decaffeinated coffee; flat-panel digital TV with Freeview and CD/DVD player; free Wi-Fi Internet access; selection of toiletries; hair dryer; full length mirror.
We have a varied breakfast menu using the best quality ingredients which are locally sourced where possible. Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and we aim to offer you a high quality start to the day in relaxed and comfortable surroundings. Our spacious dining room is situated on the ground floor at the front of the house. It is south facing and so it catches the morning sun through the large bay window. The high walls are elaborately corniced and there is a magnificent ceiling rose to complement the impressive light fittings.
