Chestnut Tree House is one of the old Ministry of Defence housesBed & breakfast in Alnwick, Northumberland, UK
bought from the MOD in 1997 and renovated internally to a very
high standard.
Our semi-detatched home is situated in the village of Longhoughton, along the designated Coastal Route for walkers and cyclists. Whilst retaining all of its original character, Longhoughton has grown in recent years and has a strong military presence from RAF Boulmer. It is in an area of outstanding natural beauty and our coastline has been designated as the Heritage Coast.
From Chestnut Tree House you can walk or drive down to the local ‘Sugar Sands’ beach and park your car on the headland (approximately 1 mile from the house). There are wonderful walks all along the coast following designated coastal tracks with excellent scenery.

Should you wish to take a long walk along the coast we can arrange to collect you or drop you off for you to walk back. We also offer a pick up and drop off service to and from the local railway station at Alnmouth (3 miles from Longhoughton) which is on the main east coast railway line London to Edinburgh. The county town of Alnwick is 4 milesBed & breakfast in Alnwick, Northumberland, UK
west inland.

Whether you are a first time visitor or a seasoned traveller to our area, staying a week or one night, you will receive the same warm welcome and be greeted personally by Janet or Alf and offered a welcoming cup of tea and home made cakes and scones.
We offer exceptional hospitality with lots of little extras in the bedrooms and use of our lounge with open fire. Janet is a fully qualified chef with over 20 years experience in the catering and hospitality business. We can provide you with a packed lunch, evening meal or afternoon tea during your stay – Pre-Booking essential. Bed & breakfast in Alnwick, Northumberland, UK
