In the vale of Whittingham, at the foot of Thrunton woods lies the hamlet of Callaly - a beautiful haven of peace and tranquility with miles of woodland and moorland walks steeped in natural history. Recommended by Country Living for a touch of rustic style and luxury.
Our two light and spacious rooms are simply and elegantly decorated in soft colours and natural fabrics giving a timeless country feel. Large beds are dressed with fine Egyptian cotton, down and feather duvets and electric blankets in cooler months. Each room has a radio and DVD player, and we have a large collection of films and comedy series for you to choose from. Well stocked hospitality trays offer every kind of tea and coffee, fresh milk and biscuits. Bathrooms are spacious and have showers and baths for those who enjoy a hot soak by candlelight after a long day. The sunny guest dining lounge has everything you need, books, games, tourist information and comfy sofas. Or you may wish to take a blanket and enjoy our beautiful garden, relax on a bench and listen to Callaly birdsong.
Breakfast is a leisurely affair using the finest local specialties. Northumbrian sausage and bacon, Craster kippers, free range eggs and homemade bread and preserves, plus cereals, fruits, yoghurt and veggie options. Special diets can be catered for. The breakfast table overlooks the garden and you can watch our huge collection of garden birds enjoying their breakfast with you!
If you plan to spend your days walking and exploring we have a great range of books and maps for you to use, and we can supply a simple packed lunch. We don't offer supper but you may bring home a picnic, and there are many good places to eat, drink and browse a short 15-20 minute drive away!

| We are approx 3 miles from the A697. From the A697 take the turning opposite to the Bridge of Aln Hotel, signed Whitttingham and Callaly. Upon entering Whittingham take the 1st left turn at the stone statue and travel 2 miles to Callaly atop a steep hill. Callaly is only 5 houses and we are on the LEFT, look for the 4 star B&B sign.
